The Music

The Band – All band Bios

Bethany Brandt’s music started because of a calling she heard when she was 19. Seven years later, God’s plan finally came into being. After writing several original songs, she realized a band was the best way to present the music to reach people not found in churches. The band members, all from Florida, came in one by one:

Bethany Brandt: I am really excited about our music ministry and the unique way it lets us minister to people. I have been involved with music since I was about ten and have been growing every day since then. I am currently leading worship at Peace Christian Fellowship and, playing the keys. I love to travel and sing so this is where worlds collide for me.

Matthew Brandt: I play rhythm guitar, and I am the current worship leader, along with Bethany, at Peace Christian Fellowship. I've been playing for around 15 years, and I've loved the instrument ever since my dad taught me as a young man. My favorite music is Christian rock, and playing with Bethany gives me a great outlet to rock out.

Doug DePew: I began learning and playing drums at the age of ten, and have had experience in almost all percussive instruments. I have performed with Florida West Coast Symphony Orchestra (now Sarasota Orchestra), Florida West Coast Youth Symphony, Sarasota-Manatee Community Orchestra, Venice Symphony, and numerous churches, clubs, and organizations.

Randy Yoder: I started playing Bass Guitar in junior high school with a group of neighborhood kids that needed a bass player in their garage band. I played with several local amateur groups ranging in styles from country to jazz fusion in the Indianapolis area. Our local church needed a bass for their praise and worship team and since then I have played “stand-in” for many local churches and continue to play every Sunday at Trinity Presbyterian in Venice, Fl.

The Meaning

Bethany Brandt plays Christian music that has influences of rock, country, and contemporary music. The idea that a new sound was needed to reach people interested in God, but not plugged into a local church. Bethany Brandt and band have been blessed with some great opportunities to reach people outside of the church walls like the 2016 & 2018 Strawberry Festival, Delandapalooza, The Manatee County Fair, and several local events and venues in the state of Florida.

Currently, Bethany and the band is working towards recording an EP.

"BP: So my first question is, for those that aren’t familiar with you, tell us some about you and your music BB: I like to say it’s a mix between Third Day and Tina Turner. I love to tell stories that connect people to one another. Everyone loves a good story…I just happen to sing them. BP: Awesome!, what kind of stories inspire you? BB: I love hearing the stories of a person’s life. There are so many people out there relating stories that are shared experiences..."
